Bruce Lee left with team mates the Long Brothers. Homer Hickam, author of "Rocket Boys" and basis for movie "October Sky" and NASA employee, couldn't make it and I was his replacement. Ky Michaelson was the stunt coordinator for all of the rockets in "October Sky."

The Long Brothers team photo after winning the Finals of Junk Yard Wars. With TV Show Hosts George Gray holding ostrich egg left and Cathy Rogers right.

Here is the Long Brothers build area. You can see the rocket taking shape. Notice the production people, there were cameras on us for the 12 hour build period, after awhile you don't even notice them anymore

Here is Ky Michaelson, he was the shows Judge. We launched the rockets at a working military cannon and mortar training area in England. I asked the colonel if it was safe, he said "if you hear it whis

This sound stage for the show was carved out of a section of a real working Junk Yard or "Scrap Heap" in England. In England the show was called "Scrap Heap Challenge."

Before I got on set I designed my rocket to be made out of junk. the Long brothers used this as a guide but came up with better materials for the final rocket. Not shown is the panty hose holder for the egg and the parachute made out of an old tent. My rocket also had a cluster of 3 I-284's.
